The House of Society Associate Program is a 9–12 month hands-on education and mentorship experience designed for newly licensed and emerging stylists who are ready to build a successful, sustainable career behind the chair.
Through hands-on education, personalized mentorship, and real salon experience, our Associates develop the technical skills, confidence, guest experience, and business knowledge needed to transition from cosmetology school to a thriving career as a stylist.
Throughout the program, you'll work alongside experienced House of Society educators while continuing to develop your skills in cutting, coloring, blonding, styling, consultations, guest experience, product knowledge, retail, social media, and career development.
Every Associate's journey is a little different. Our program allows you to develop at your own pace while receiving ongoing education, feedback, and mentorship based on your individual strengths, goals, and areas of growth.
Education Is at the Heart of What We Do
We believe becoming a successful stylist takes more than technical talent.
Associates participate in two dedicated education classes each month, covering technical skills, advanced techniques, product knowledge, social media, guest experience, and business development.
In addition, our entire House of Society team participates in four all-salon education classes each year, allowing us to continue learning, evolving, and staying inspired together.
Our goal isn't simply to prepare you to work behind the chair. We want to help you build the confidence, habits, skills, and business foundation needed to create a career you love.
What to Expect
Shadow & Assist
Two to three days each week, you'll work alongside one of our educators on the salon floor.
You'll gain hands-on experience with shampooing, blow-drying, toning, styling, guest preparation, and other salon responsibilities while observing consultations, formulations, techniques, timing, and the overall guest experience.
Opportunity Days
You'll also have dedicated Opportunity Days, where you'll begin taking your own guests and models in a supported environment. These days give you the opportunity to practice your skills, improve your timing, market yourself, and begin building relationships with future guests.
As you grow and begin developing recurring clientele, additional opportunities may become available as you work toward transitioning into a Level 1 Stylist.
Ongoing Education
You'll participate in structured Associate classes, hands-on education, mannequin work, model services, product education, and continued coaching throughout the program.
Career & Business Development
You'll learn the business behind becoming a successful stylist, including pre-booking, retail, referrals, client retention, goal setting, social media, personal branding, and building a clientele.

We're looking for passionate, motivated individuals who are excited to learn and serious about building a career in the beauty industry.
Our ideal Associate is professional, fashion-forward, self-motivated, comfortable with social media, receptive to coaching, and excited to contribute to a collaborative salon environment.
Requirements: Applicants must hold a valid Washington State Cosmetology License.
